Central Oregon Community College (COCC) is pleased to announce plans to expand its Madras campus with a new, 15,000-square-foot facility that will house a range of new training and education opportunities to meet workforce needs. COCC plans to open the Madras campus expansion in the fall of 2024.
Zak Boone, chief advancement officer and executive director of the COCC Foundation, noted local philanthropy’s critical role in bringing higher education to the communities of Jefferson County. “For more than a decade, COCC has operated the Madras campus thanks to transformative gifts from the Bean Foundation and other donors,” he said. “Now COCC is again able to expand our programs and strategic partnerships because of their latest generosity. The Bean Foundation and their fellow benefactors continue to help COCC create essential educational and community spaces.”

Following almost a decade of planning and anticipation, Central Oregon Community College has opened its brand new Madras Campus in time for the fall term – with local residents already rushing to fill initial class offerings at Jefferson County’s first permanent college facility.
The $2 million, 10,000 square foot facility, which has emerged just north of Jefferson Middle School on Ashwood Road, was made possible by a land donation by the Bean Foundation – with additional property totaling up to 45 acres also available for future campus expansion – together with funds from the 2009 voter-approved COCC Bond measure.
